Things to consider before and after any aesthetic treatments


Anti Wrinkle Treatment

Reasons you would not be suitable for anti-wrinkle treatment:

- Allergy to Botulinum Toxin

- If you are pregnant

- If you are breastfeeding

- If you currently feel unwell or on/or had a recent course of antibiotics

- Myasthenia Gravis (rare long term condition that causes muscle weakness)

- Neuromuscular disorder

- Allergy to human albumin


What to avoid before anti-wrinkle treatments:

- Avoiding taking Ibuprofen pain relief 24 hours before unless taken as per instruction of the

GP.

- Avoid alcohol consumption 24 hours before your appointment.

- Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal creams in the area(s)

to be treated 24 hours before treatment.

- Avoid extreme sun exposure that may cause damage to the skin before the appointment.

- Make sure that you have eaten before your appointment.

- Try to attend your appointment free of make-up to the area to be treated.

Aftercare for Anti-Wrinkle Treatment - Avoid any facial treatments for two weeks post-treatment. - Do not touch or rub the treated area for 2-4 hours after your anti-wrinkle treatment. - When washing and cleansing your face, use gentle upwards and outwards movements for the first week after treatment. - Avoid lying down or leaning forward for 2-4 hours post-treatment. - No excessive exercise 48 hours after treatment like running, weights, gym classes, yoga/pilates, and horse riding.

- Avoid extreme heat such as sunbeds/ sunbathing, saunas or steam rooms for two weeks post-treatment.


Dermal Filler Reasons you would not be suitable for any dermal filler treatment: - If you are pregnant - If you are breastfeeding - If you currently have any dental problems or are having dental work carried out - If you have any cold sores or any active skin infection on the face - If you have had your covid vaccine less than three weeks before your appointment. You cannot have a dermal filler appointment three weeks before or three weeks after your covid vaccine. - If you are currently on a course of antibiotics, have had antibiotics in the last four weeks or feel unwell/run down. What to avoid before your dermal filler treatment: - Avoid taking Ibuprofen pain relief medication 24 hours before your appointment. - Avoid alcohol consumption 24 hours before your appointment. - Avoid extreme sun exposure that may cause damage to your skin before your appointment. - Make sure that you have eaten before your appointment. - You must ensure that you have not had a covid vaccination within the last three weeks. - Avoid any elective dental work four weeks before your appointment. - Try to attend your appointment free of make-up to the area to be treated.

Aftercare for dermal filler treatment: - Do not apply any make-up to the area for 48 hours post-treatment like lip balms if post lip filler. - Avoid touching, pressing or rubbing the treated area for at least 6 hours post-treatment. - Avoid extreme temperatures such as sunbeds/sunbathing, saunas or steam rooms for 2 weeks post-treatment. - Avoid all excessive exercise 48 hours after treatment like running, weights, gym classes, yoga/pilates, and horse riding. - Avoid any facial treatments for 2-4 weeks post-treatment depending upon the area treated. - As per the advice of your practitioner, you may apply a gentle cold compress to help with any post-treatment swelling and bruising.
